Paul Cross
Paul Cross has been involved in elite athletics for the past 25 years. He began the sport of triathlon and shortly was competing at the top level. Paul raced elite from 1993 – 1998, and got into coaching in 1995. He has learned from some of the best in the sport.
Paul realized he has strong natural skill in coaching so established a comprehensive training program for the McGill Triathlon Club in Montreal, serving as head coach from 1995 – 1999. He moved to the west coast of Canada in 1999 and quickly built on his coaching skill establishing Cross Athletic Consulting. Now Paul works full time as an endurance sports specialist in Vancouver, BC.

Paul has been designing full programs for triathletes, cyclists, runners, swimmers,
and general fitness enthusiasts for several years. Programs are individually tapered and
reflect his philosophy in balance. Value is equally placed on actual workouts and the fine
tuning, feedback, and less tangible elements.
Cycling Coach, Program Design & Implementation - Speed Theory Vancouver 2006-2007
Paul began working with the Vancouver Triathlon Store (Speed Theory) in the
spring of 2006 to run weekly group rides. He has since designed an indoor
group bike program for the 2006/2007 season. He coaches himself 1 night per week.
Masters Swim Coach/Fitness Consultant, YWCA Vancouver 2000-2007
Initially there were 2 swim groups of YWCA masters in 2000 started by Paul.
There are now 5 different masters swim groups. This success reflects on his
competence and ability to relate to athletes of widely different backgrounds.
Coach/Founder, Endurance Specialists - Triathlon Training Camps 2004-2007
Paul began a partnership with 3 time world champion Ironman athlete Peter Reid in 2004.
They also engaged Cliff English (current USA national Team head coach in Triathlon) as a partner.

Paul Cross and Dave Armour began the club in 1995 and coached together for 5 years.
This club has provided a firm foundation for Olympian Samantha McGlone in addition
to dozens of other elite triathletes.
